Deux: "As you explore the dark cave, you suddenly hear a deafening roar. A huge Grizzly Bear emerges from the shadows, ready to attack!"
Alice: "Deux, do we need to determine initiative?"
Deux: "Exactly. Everyone turn a card from your Energy Vitality deck."
Mark: "I have an 8♣ of Clubs."
Alice: "I drew a Q♦ of Diamonds, so 12."
Deux: "The Grizzly Bear has a fixed initiative of 6. Alright, the order will be Alice, Mark, and then the Bear. Now let's draw Strategy Cards."

Alice and Mark each draw 5 cards.
Deux: "Alice, it's your turn. What do you do?"
Alice: "I'm using my Combat Technique 'Incandescent Claws'. It's a Fire type with Melee range. I'm placing a hidden card from my hand for my technique."

Deux draws a hidden card for the Grizzly Bear, it's a 7♠. Having no technique on that suit (thus unable to benefit from Blessed Damage), Deux decides to use any technique. Deux opts for "Claw Swipe" and places the drawn card face down, which is the 7♠.
Deux: "The Bear approaches you as you're casting your spell. Alice, reveal your Primary Card."
Alice: "I have a K♥ of Hearts."
Deux: "The Bear uses a 7♠ of Spades. Alice, do you want to create a Combo?"
Alice: "No, I want to keep some resources in case I need to defend myself."
Deux: "Great! Your Total Value is 13, plus your Charisma bonus of +2 (being a Fire technique), for a total of 15. The Bear only has 7. It takes damage and the effect of your technique, since you played a face card."
Alice: "Fantastic! I inflict 8 Total Damage (4 base damage, multiplied by 2 because my primary card is Hearts like the technique and it's one of my two blessed suits), and the Bear is Burned for 2 Scenes."
Deux: "A large fiery claw forms from your hand, slashing the Bear and hurling it against the cave wall."

Deux: "Mark, it's your turn. What do you want to do?"
Mark: "I want to use my Combat Technique 'Double Slash'. It's a Normal type with Melee range."
Deux: "Alright. The Bear will try to defend again with Claw Swipe. Now turn over your hidden Primary Card."
Mark: "I'm using my 10♣ of Clubs."
Deux: "The Bear uses a K♦ of Diamonds. Mark, do you want to create a Combo?"
Mark: "No, I'll go with the single card this time."
Deux: "Ok. Your Total Value is 10, plus your Robustness bonus of +3, for a total of 13. The Bear has 13 + 2, so your attack is overwhelmed by the bear's claw swipe."
Mark: "Oops."
Deux: "Indeed! The Bear, in a fit of rage, blocks your charge and slashes you with its claws. It inflicts 8 total damage: 3 base damage multiplied by 2 since the suit matches the technique, and 2 additional damage for the technique's effect since it used a face card."

Deux: "Alright. Now it's the Grizzly Bear's turn. I draw a card and choose its technique. The Bear uses its 'Tectonic Fissure' Technique against both of you since it can hit up to 3 targets. Choose your cards if you want to defend."
Alice: "I'm using my 'Dodge' Technique and my Primary Card is a J♦ of Diamonds."
Mark: "I think I'll use my 'Beyond the Limit' Technique."
Deux: "The Bear uses a 10♣ of Clubs. The Bear's Total Value is 10 + 4 bonus, so 14. Alice, you have a J + 2 Agility bonus, so 13, but your technique's effect activates first, being 'Self' Range, so you double your value as per the technique's Effect, reaching 26. Mark, I see you also have an A, so 'Beyond the Limit' activates and you have a 14 as total value since this technique has no suit."

Deux: "To recap: The bear slams its front paws on the ground, creating a fissure that threatens to swallow you both. Alice dodges it lightning-fast, almost disappearing from sight, while Mark charges his aura, creating fractures in the ground himself, blocking the bear's attack. Well done, Mark, nice move. Sure, the ace could have been used to deal more damage, but perhaps you have a strategy in mind."
